Obamacare Update: "Turning America into a Part Time Employment Country"
Video - CNBC host Maria Bartiromo accused the Affordable Care Act of turning the United States into a "part-time employment country" on Sunday's Meet the Press. She said that there are incentives within the health care reform law which create an incentive for business to cut back their employees' hours. "Beyond the glitches, there are other issues and that has had implications with the goal we're supposed to have, and that is job creation," Bartiromo said. "Businesses have changed their plans as a result of Obamacare."

Video: Don't Let THEM Detroit Virginia
Video - Don't Let THEM Detroit Virginia:
Via Rush Limbaugh:
RUSH: I've got the audio of the television ad that ran for a while in the Virginia governor's race. The ad was put together for Ken Cuccinelli. It was put together by an independent group of people who were fed up with liberalism. They're fed up with the Democrat Party. They're actually fed up with the fact that Republicans don't run these kinds of ads. I don't remember the name of the group. It's five guys that did this.
I think they're New Yorkers, and they're just fed up, and they're upset. Now, they're not upset at Cuccinelli. Cuccinelli is a great pugilist. He does fight back. That's why this group put the ad together. But I think the ad hasn't run in a while, and it may be a question of money. But I have audio of the ad. Well, I watched it on television, watched the video, and I decided that even though the graphics that support the audio aren't here, I wanted you to hear it anyway, because they've researched this ad.
They focus-grouped this ad among voters in Virginia, and it causes a massive change of intention to vote from McAuliffe to Cuccinelli. Massive. In some cases, eight-point swings. McAuliffe ends up minus four after this ad and Cuccinelli ends up plus four. In some cases, it's a bigger swing than that, so here's the ad. There's no moderation here, there's no bipartisanship, there's no appeal to getting along. This ad basically says to Terry McAuliffe and the Democrat Party, "We're not gonna let you Detroit us. We're not gonna let you turn Virginia into every place else you've run into the ground."

Bombshell Discovery: Tea Party Members know more Science than non-Tea Party Members
Who would have known! It looks like Tea Party Members know more science and have a higher Scientific Comprehension than either Non-Tea Party folks OR Conservatives. So says a Yale Professor!
While conducting an analysis of the scientific comprehension of various political and religious groups, Yale professor Daniel M. Kahandiscovered that self-identified tea partiers had slightly higher “scientific comprehension” than their non-tea party counterparts.Via Mediaite
Using data from the National Science Foundation’s “Science Indicators,” the Cognitive Reflection Test, and a “nationally representative sample of U.S. adults recruited to participate in a study of vaccine risk perceptions,” Kahan developed a series of “science comprehension” scales to analyze a variety of groups.
Among his findings: “Scientific literacy correlates negatively with religiosity.” And “science comprehension decreases as political outlooks move in the rightward direction — i.e., the more ‘liberal’ and ‘Democrat,’ the more science comprehending.”
But when he analyzed the data for the 19% of respondents who self-identified as tea partiers, he was astonished to find that those people exhibited a slightly greater scientific comprehension than non-tea party members. In addition, Kahan noted, self-described “tea partiers” also scored higher scientific comprehension than “conservatives.” The histogram below demonstrates the former, via:While noting that this relationship is “trivially small,” Kahan wrote: “I’ve got to confess. I found this result surprising. As I pushed the button to run the analysis on my computer, I fully expected I’d be shown a modest negative correlation between identifying with the Tea Party and science comprehension.”
“But then again,” he admitted, “I don’t know a single person who identifies with the Tea Party. All my impressions come from watching cable tv — & I don’t watch Fox News very often — and reading the “paper” (New York Times daily, plus a variety of politics-focused internet sites like Huffington Post & Politico).”
Ultimately, Kahan concluded, “I’m a little embarrassed, but mainly I’m just glad that I no longer hold this particular mistaken view.”

Steve Lonegan for US Senate (Editorial)
Know anyone from New Jersey? Today, Wednesday October 16th is the US Senate Special Election! Please pass along this NY Sun editorial endorsing Republican Steve Lonegan for US Senate:
Steve Lonegan for Senate
It’s going to be illuminating to see whether there is any backlash in New Jersey against news that Mayor Bloomberg of New York is scrambling to put an emergency $1 million into the floundering campaign of Mayor Cory Booker to succeed Senator Lautenberg. This news was injected Sunday by Michael Barbaro of the New York Times into a dispatch that ran on page one under the headline “Anxious Allies Aiding Booker In Senate Bid.” Mr. Bloomberg tried something similar in Colorado the other day, and Rocky Mountain voters promptly cashiered his two candidates out of the state’s Senate.
Whether Mr. Bloomberg’s money will be enough for Mr. Booker, we don’t know; the polls are favoring the Democrat beyond their margins of error. All the more reason for the Sun to pony up what pixels it has in an endorsement of the Republican underdog, Steve Lonegan. We don’t gainsay how attractive and smart a figure Mr. Booker is; the former Rhodes scholar stayed with the quest for his dream to be mayor of Newark, and it’s easy to see why, despite his mixed results, he is every liberal’s favorite. But as we watched him in debate with Mr. Lonegan Friday, we also found it easy to see why the underdog has rattled the confidence of the Democratic camp.
Mr. Lonegan, who was twice reelected as mayor of Bogota by wide margins, is smart, articulate, focused, principled, and practical, and he strikes us as the kind of solid and sober citizen we need in the Senate. “A referendum on the Tea Party in Washington” is how Mr. Booker tried in the debate to trans-characterize the race. If that’s what it is, Mr. Lonegan has our vote in extra measure. The kind of conservatism that we need in Washington right now we’d label as less paleo-, neo-, libertarian-, social-, or other hyphenated brand but instead as the kind of constitutional based commitment to founding principles by which the Tea Party is animated.
Only a few weeks ago the idea that such a brand of conservatism could prosper in the Garden State was being widely discounted. The seat voters are getting ready to fill, after all, was held by, in Lautenberg, one of the most doctrinaire liberals in the land. Governor Christie has endorsed Mr. Lonegan but sometimes he has seemed focused more on mending the political image of President Obama than in throwing himself into the race to elevate Mr. Lonegan. The last week of the campaign is a moment when New Jersey would benefit from the governor stepping up. It would be a reminder that the people of New Jersey are a bigger stakeholder in this race than Mayor Bloomberg.

The Voting Scorecard: US House 21 - US Senate 2

Obamacare Update: Female College Grad "This law has raped my future"
As heard on Rush Limbaugh and Dennis Prager. Ashley Dione posted something on Facebook which just breaks your heart. Alternative Headline: War on Women Update
My name is Ashley Dionne and I’m a 26-year-old recent graduate from Michigan.
The phony Obamacare signup poster boy made me want to send a message about how Obamacare is really affecting people.
I graduated from The University of Michigan in 2009. In my state, this used to mean something, but even with a bachelor’s I was told I was too educated and wouldn’t stay. I watched as kids with GEDs and high school diploma’s took the low-paying jobs for which I applied.
I went back to school and got a second degree and finally found work at a gym. I work nights and only get 32 hours a week for eight dollars an hour. I’m unable to find a second job at this time.
I have asthma, ulcers, and mild cerebral palsy. Obamacare takes my monthly rate from $75 a month for full coverage on my “Young Adult Plan,” to $319 a month. After $6,000 in deductibles, of course.
Liberals claimed this law would help the poor. I am the poor, the working poor, and I can’t afford to support myself, let alone older generations and people not willing to work at all.
This law has raped my future.
It will keep me and kids my age from having a future at all.
This is the real face of Obamacare and it isn’t pretty

Cruz mostly deferred, saying Americans don't care about partisan bickering and blaming President Obama and Senate Democrats for opposing funding specific agencies. Kelly pointed out it's because they oppose piecemeal bills, and brought up Cruz's high unfavorable ratings. She questioned whether Cruz's outspokenness on Obamacare is "costing" him and the GOP politically.
